Scope and Contents

From the Collection:

This collection documents Dr. Armando Arias' involvement in the founding and development of California State University, Monterey Bay, as well as his role as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Dean of Arts Humanities and Creative Technologies during 1994 to 1999. This material consists almost exclusively of subject files Dr. Arias maintained during this time, but also includes published reports, catalogs, and binders.

The collection includes materials from other CSU campuses used as reference during the planning of CSUMB. It also includes correspondence related to the development of the university's structural organization, academic programs, and curriculum; faculty-related files; memos, correspondence, and reports from the CSU Chancellor's Office and Board of Trustees; materials from meetings and conferences; documents related to research and collaboration with various organizations and regional colleges; and administrative files.
